COMMENTARY: Why Did Trump Take Venezuela’s Money?

The following article should be taken with a grain of salt. Simply because the author is a member of the tribe and a professor of economics at Harvard, the combination is a red flag, to say the least. However, if one can stay away from the Jewish communist brainwashing redrick, such as: blaming Trump (who we know is their puppet, but appears as America’s savior), the poor vs. the rich, the ‘two sides’ in the game ‘one against the other’ etc. one can clearly see the evil hand also known as Putin’s Communist Russia working behind the scenes all along. Don’t be fooled, pretty soon the whole world will look like Venezuela! Because that is their objective.

“Why did Trump take Venezuela’s money?,” Source:

The symbolism of a rich country taking money from a poor neighbor is hardly attractive

There is a certain irony in recent news that donated a half-million dollars to Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration through Petróleos de (PDVSA), the state-owned oil company. Venezuela, of course, is a serial defaulter, having done so more times than almost any other country over the last two centuries.
Recently, Venezuela’s despotic socialist government has been so desperate to avoid another default (which would be the country’s 11th since independence) that it mortgaged its industrial crown jewels, including the United States-based refiner Citgo, to the Russians and the Chinese. (The Citgo brand is especially famous in my hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, where the company’s iconic sign has become a landmark in the environs of Fenway Park, where the Red Sox baseball team plays.)

It is not exactly clear why is so desperate to avoid defaulting on the country’s foreign debt that he is starving his own people, much the way Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu did in the 1980s. With such severe shortages of food and basic medicines, there is little doubt that if and when the autocrat is finally deposed, there will be some eerily familiar horror stories.
It is simplistic to portray the Venezuelan tragedy as an apocryphal tale of what happens when a country is taken over by left-wing populists. The right-wing governments of the 1980s and 1990s were also corrupt; and, while national income rose, income distribution was among the most unequal in the world. But it is true that Venezuela’s current horror show is very much a product of two decades of left-wing misgovernment.

There was a time when a contribution such as the one made to Mr. Trump was a mere pittance in a much larger aid budget. Under its previous president, the charismatic Hugo Chávez, spread its oil money far and wide, mostly to support other populist anti-American governments in the region. Chávez even funded heating fuel for some low-income households in the US, a program made famous by former US Representative Joe Kennedy II’s 2006 television ads.
That was back when high and rising oil prices helped to maintain Venezuela’s revenues even as economic mismanagement sent oil production into a downward spiral. Mind you, was never nearly as rich as the US, so its aid budget was like giving to the poor by taking from the almost poor.
Now, with oil prices having fallen dramatically since Chávez’s death from cancer in 2013, his successor, who has all the charisma of a lifelong apparatchik, is being forced to get by without the same easy revenues. And while Chávez was also autocratic, he probably won his elections.
Mr. Maduro’s election in 2013, by contrast, was a very close affair that many people question; for one thing, the opposition was allowed virtually no television time, even if starry-eyed US academics insisted that Mr. Maduro won fair and square. It is understandable that left-leaning scholars found some of the socialist government’s redistribution and education policies appealing, as Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz did when visiting Caracas, the country’s capital, in 2007. But the left’s willingness to overlook the dismantling of democratic institutions in is more reminiscent of right-leaning Chicago-school economists’ relationships with Latin American dictators in the 1970s.
Today, Venezuela’s economy is a full-blown disaster, with the collapse in growth and near-hyperinflation causing widespread human suffering. In such circumstances, one might expect a traditional Latin American military coup. The absence of one in is hardly a reflection of strong democratic institutions. Rather, the government gives the military a free hand in running the drug trade, making many generals and officials extremely rich — and able to buy the loyalty of key troops. And this bring us back to the bizarre spectacle of this economically desperate country helping to fund Mr. Trump’s inauguration festivities. Like Joe Kennedy II, the Trump organizers can plead that if wants to spend its money on making life better for its much richer northern neighbor, who are they to say no?
Well, in both cases, the US should have said no: While the aid is transparent, the symbolism of a rich country taking money from a poor neighbor with millions of suffering people is hardly attractive. And it is particularly bizarre that even as US policy toward Mexico has greatly increased the chances of an anti-American Chávez-type character becoming president there, officials are providing positive publicity to a government that is a caricature of disastrous governance.
Mr Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, took a principled stand in US dealings with Venezuela, imposing sanctions to rein in rogue behavior, a policy that drew broad bipartisan support. The Trump administration needs to stay the course, especially as lower oil prices have weakened the Venezuelan government’s hand. Instead of bashing Latin America, the US needs to show it can be a steady and principled friend that will not be swayed by corrupt bribes of any type.

VIDEO: People Need To Wake Up And See Ivanka Is The Problem …

The whole Trump family is a problem and no one can have any doubts in their minds that Ivanka is an idiot. We have to take this man with a grain of salt because he is now working for Sputnik! So he is being paid by Putin. He has also been interviewed by mainstream media and of course, Infowars. But all of this is simply more proof that this entire ‘Trump’ movement is a CONTINUATION OF OBAMA AND BUSH and has a lot going on behind the scenes that innocent Americans are not aware of.

Trump is NOT going to make America Great Again, instead he is going to make Communism greater than ever. And Lee Stranahan who is the person speaking on this video is part of the plan. The diabolical rabbit hole is extremely twisted, it takes a lot to keep up with their moves, but we have no other choice. ‘Coincidentally’ everything goes back to the tribe and its directives for Amerika.

Gilad Atzmon is a Jew who has trouble with the English language, but he speaks many truths. The manipulation of facts and the way the tribe hides truths is what they are best at, it is called Communist Propaganda. Gilad is right, it is our problem because we don’t have what it takes to stand up to the huge amount of lies that surround us. So let’s take a hard look at ourselves and change our attitude and let’s start calling out the enemy by its real name. We need to stop him when we have the opportunity to do so IF we really love America like we say we do, and IF we really want world peace like we say we do.

Soros Associate Runs Vote Count in Key Battleground States

Conflict of interests anyone? Well, we won’t be hearing any such talk from the mainstream media on this matter. Nothing to see here people — move along.

George Soros sidekick Mark Malloch‐Brown is the chairman of Smartmatic, an electronic voting machine conglomerate that provides technology and support services to the electoral commissions of 307 counties in 16 U.S. states. Smartmatic holds the largest election automation contract in U.S. history – Cook County, Illinois. The company website states that it has configured 392,000 electoral devices across America and “deployed”  57,000 vote-counting machines. This company launched TIVI, which it calls, “a secure, verifiable online voting solution for governmental elections.”

British Lord Mark Malloch‐Brown has a long globalist resume. He is vice‐chairman of Soros’ investment funds and Open Society Foundations philanthropy. He was formerly vice president of World Bank and lead international partner in a political consulting firm. He has served as vice-chairman of the World Economic Forum and as deputy secretary general and chief of staff of the U.N. under Kofi Annan. He also authored a book called “The Unfinished Global Revolution.”

Nothing to see here, ignore the one-world government man behind the curtain! Yes, faux democracy in full bloom. They really think you are that stupid.

In 2005, Smartmatic acquired Sequoia Voting Systems, a California-based Company that had been automating U.S. elections for over a century. The list of Smartmatic’s clients is jaw dropping as it includes a big majority of toss-up states in the U.S. presidential election. It also explains the election anomalies witnessed in the Clinton-Sanders California primary.

If necessary in a close election with small margins in key battleground states, votes can be stolen using a small-scale algorithm, thereby affecting as few votes as possible. Close-outcome states with Smartmatic technology are in bold below.

In the following video, Donald Trump comments on rigged voting. The nasty (((MSM))) dismiss this as “damaging rhetoric.”

This company is already accused of voter fraud in Mexico, the Philippines and Brazil, where a Marxist president with a 15% approval rating managed to get re-elected with key voting areas only counting only 75% of the votes.

Hillary Clinton Courts Henry Kissinger’s Endorsement Even After Meeting His Victims

No surprises here. Hillary takes her advice from one the most heinous Zionist war criminals the United States has ever known. This is very telling on how we should expect her foreign policy to be when/if she becomes president of the United States.

Hillary & Kissinger

HILLARY CLINTON’S CAMPAIGN has been seeking the endorsement of former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and their efforts may pay off, as there are reports that he is expected soon, alongside former Secretary of State George Schultz, to issue a joint endorsement of Clinton.

While those inside the national security community in Washington, D.C., may applaud the endorsement, Kissinger’s legacy of war crimes — from complicity in the 1973 coup in Chile to spearheading the saturation bombing of Indochina — has made him far less popular among human rights observers.

Clinton is well aware of that legacy. As secretary of state, she traveled to areas of the world that were devastated by policies Kissinger crafted and implemented.

The most relevant example is in 2012, when she visited Laos’s Cooperative Orthotic & Prosthetic Enterprise, a joint project between NGOs and the government of Laos dedicated to helping people with physical disabilities get prosthetic limbs and be rehabilitated. The project’s creation was prompted by the millions of submunitions littered across Laos, left over from the U.S. air war on the country during the conflict in Indochina.

A 2009 government report estimated that there are still 300 casualties annually from leftover ordinance.

During Clinton’s visit she met with Peter Kim, a young man who at age 16 happened upon an unexploded American bomb and lost both of his hands and his eyesight. “For everyone who works to help prevent injury and then to help survivors, and to the people of Laos, and I wish everything good for you,” Clinton told Kim as reporters watched on.

Kissinger served as President Richard Nixon’s secretary of state when that president expanded the U.S. air war in Laos. During the 1971 ground invasion of the country, Nixon complained about the media’s critique of the operation, leading Kissinger to quip that if “Britain had a press like this in World War II, they would have quit in ’42.”

The bombings made Laos, “per capita, the most heavily bombed country on earth,” with around a ton of bombs being dropped for every person in the country.

Austria to Consider State of Emergency Decree Over Refugee Crisis

France is in an extended state of emergency. Hungary is as well. Several other European Union countries ebb and flow with their state of ermegencies (Belgium, Italy and Greece). And now the government of Austria is considering extending it on a perpertual basis.

What he see here is the mass curtailing of civil liberties and the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan in action — all pushed by the Jewish lobby.

“Austria to Consider State of Emergency Decree Over Refugee Crisis,” Source:

A state of emergency decree allowing Austrian authorities to take stricter measures against asylum seekers could be reviewed by the government as early as September, Chancellor Christian Kern has said.

Adoption of the decree depends on the outcome of the negotiations between Austria and Hungary scheduled for early September which will focus on the issue of readmission of refugees and migrants, Kern said in an interview with the Austrian APA news agency.

“Early September, talks between Austria and Hungary at the level of the interior and defense ministers will take place,” Kern told APA, adding that the talks should create the “preconditions for implementing the [state of emergency] decree and sending people back to Hungary.”

Kern added that the decree could be successfully implemented only if similar agreements on readmission are negotiated with Italy and Slovenia.

The draft was prepared by the Austrian Interior Ministry on August 12. If implemented, it would allow Austrian authorities to turn refugees and migrants away directly at the border. Any who entered Austria illegally could be detained and placed in custody even if they had already submitted an asylum request.

The decree sees “a threat to the maintaining of public order and internal security”as a precondition of imposing this state of emergency. Although the text of the decree has not yet been published by the Interior Ministry, Austrian media report that the “polarization of society” and “influence of the refugee and migrant issues on the public peace” could be considered as threats to public security under the ruling.

The rising number of crimes committed by refugees and migrants, as well as the increasing number of attacks on asylum seekers, could also be considered as reasons for the introduction of a state of emergency as they are “indicators of the fact that public peace is jeopardized,” Austrian Interior Ministry spokesman Karl-Heinz Grundbock said, as quoted by Der Standard.

A law allowing the Austrian government to impose a state of emergency if too many migrants attempt to enter the country was passed in May. Under the law, the state of emergency could be introduced for six months and extended for another three separate six-month terms depending on the severity of the situation.

It is expected that a state of emergency would be introduced if the number of refugees and migrants entering Austria this year exceed the cap of 37,500, which was earlier enforced by the authorities for 2016. However, the move could be in breach of EU law if it were proven that it contradicts the European Convention on Human Rights. In such a case, it could be canceled by the European Court of Justice.

In this regard, the Austrian chancellor ordered the Interior Ministry on Monday to “clear” all legal issues as well as to ensure there are technical capabilities for the implementation of the measures envisaged in the state of emergency decree.

Kern also said he is committed to the idea of reducing the refugee and migrant influx and stressed that the number of new arrivals “has significantly decreased in the recent months.” At the same time, he said the situation in North Africa and Turkey may change and that Austria has to prepare for any turn of events that could lead to a renewed increase in the inflow of asylum seekers.

The chancellor once again emphasized the importance of protecting the EU’s external borders and expressed his hope that the EU-Turkey refugee deal will not break down. He also said that if EU borders are properly secured and the refugee deal lasts, Austria may be able to keep the number of new arrivals in 2016 under the cap without imposing a state of emergency.

Austria had accepted 24,260 asylum seekers by the end of July, according to the Interior Ministry. Around 10,000 more asylum requests are still being processed, Der Standard reports. On average, about 3,000 refugees and migrants come to Austria each month. The government expects that the refugee cap could be exceeded in November.

In this context, Kern expressed doubts over whether it would be worth imposing a state of emergency if the cap were to be exceeded only four weeks before the end of the year.

In Overwhelming Vote, Leading Lutheran Branch Calls on US to Cut Off Aid to Israel

The ‘goyim’ are waking up slowly to Israel’s crimes! Bit by bit, the supporters are adding up. Yet, the Zionist politicians play a doubtful game in ignoring an ever increasing number of solid community groups and individuals. And, it is a dangerous game in seeking to have politicians outlaw freedom of speech and conscience.

This weekend the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) overwhelmingly approved two resolutions calling on the U.S. government to end all financial and military aid to Israel until Israel “compl[ies] with internationally recognized human rights standards”, freezes settlement construction on occupied Palestinian land, and for the church to adopt an investment screen to avoid profiting from Israel’s Occupation, at ELCA’s triennial 2016 Churchwide Assembly in New Orleans. ELCA is one of three Lutheran church bodies in the U.S.

Yesterday’s vote on Resolution C1 was 751 (82%) in favor, and 162 opposed.

[8.] To urge this church’s members, congregations, synods, agencies and presiding bishop to call on their U.S. Representatives, Senators and the Administration to take action requiring that, to continue receiving U.S. financial and military aid, Israel must comply with internationally recognized human rights standards as specified in existing U.S. law, stop settlement building and the expansion of existing settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, end its occupation of Palestinian territory, and enable an independent Palestinian state; and

[9.] To encourage this church’s members, congregations, synods, and agencies to call on the U.S. President to recognize the State of Palestine and not prevent the application of the State of Palestine for full membership in the United Nations.

A second resolution (C2) directing the ELCA’s Corporate Social Responsibility review team to adopt an investment screen to avoid profiting from Israel’s Occupation passed overwhelming (90%) this morning:

[I]n the case of Israel and Palestine, specifically based on the concerns raised in the ELCA Middle East Strategy….To repudiate explicitly and clearly the European-derived doctrine of discovery as an example of the “improper mixing of the power of the church and the power of the sword” (Augsburg Confession Article XXVIII, Latin text), and to acknowledge and repent from this church’s complicity in the evils of colonialism in the Americas, which continue to harm tribal governments and individual tribal members;

to develop a human rights social criteria investment screen based on the social teachings of this church and the concerns raised in the ELCA Middle East Strategy;

To encourage ELCA members, congregations, synods, agencies and institutions to increase positive investment in Palestine and other under-resourced areas where human rights abuses materially impact the well-being of all people; and

To encourage ELCA members, congregations, synods, agencies and institutions to engage in shareholder advocacy in support of human rights, exercising the right of a shareholder to submit resolutions at a corporation’s annual meeting.

Leading the initiative was Isaiah 58, a group of ELCA Lutherans who “advocate for a more engaged church response to calls from Palestinians for an end to Israel’s occupation and a just peace for both Israel and Palestine”, who issued this press release today:

Isaiah 58, a group of Lutherans working for peace and justice in the Holy Land, welcomes today’s vote by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) to adopt a human rights-based investment screen for its social responsibility funds to ensure the church is not profiting from human rights abuses, including Israel’s nearly half-century-old military occupation of Palestinian lands. The overwhelming vote in favor took place at the ELCA’s triennial Churchwide Assembly in New Orleans.

“In our Affirmation of Baptism, one of the five promises we make as Lutherans is to ‘work for justice and peace throughout the earth,’” said Jan Miller, ELCA member and a leader of Isaiah 58 from the Rocky Mountain Synod. “By adopting this investment screen, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is taking an important step to ensure that we are not profiting from, or complicit in, injustice in the Holy Land and elsewhere.”

Yesterday, the ELCA approved a resolution calling for an end to US aid to Israel until the latter freezes the construction of settlements built on occupied Palestinian land in violation of longstanding official US policy and international law. Currently, the US gives more than $3 billion in military aid to Israel each year, without which it could not maintain its occupation of Palestinian lands, which entered its 50th year this past June.

The ELCA has long opposed Israel’s illegal settlement enterprise and supported nonviolent action in support of Palestinian rights. With today’s vote, the ELCA adds its own voice and approach to the growing number of US churches that have endorsed economic acts of conscience in support of Palestinian freedom and human rights, including the United Methodist ChurchPresbyterian Church (USA), the United Church of Christ, and others.

Isaiah 58 thanks ELCA voting members for taking a strong, principled stand in support of freedom, justice, and equality in the Holy Land and around the world, and looks forward to continuing our work towards achieving those goals.

Anna Baltzer, Director of Organizing & Advocacy for the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation reports:

ELCA marks the ninth denomination to engage in economic acts of conscience to support justice for Palestinians, following the Quakers, Mennonite Central Committee, United Methodists, Presbyterians, United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalists, Catholic Conference of Major Superiors of Men, and the Alliance of Baptists.

COMMENTARY: They’re Selected, Not Elected – Rothschild’s Hosts $100,000 a Plate Dinner for Guess Who

“If we want to combat environmental issues, war, poverty, and all of our other problems, we can’t keep looking to political ‘leaders’ like Obama and international organizations like the UN, who simply give their speeches as they’ve always done, year after year. None if it ever seems to change anything at all. They know of the solutions, and have known for years. These are people/organizations who act as puppets and mouthpieces for those in real power…”

“It’s a Big Club, and you ain’t in it!” These are the words of the late comedian George Carlin. Politicans are indeed for sale. Say “Jump!” (when flashing large sums of money), and the likes of Hillary will say “how high?”

Politicians are literally walking billboards for giant corporations who dish out millions of dollars in campaign contributions. This year’s campaign saw massive amounts of attention paid to this fact, and the idea that U.S. elections are actually rigged. Even if you don’t believe they’re rigged, the superdelegate process alone completely undermines democracy. Elections in the U.S. seem to be a form of entertainment, a mere distraction, more so than a real process of democracy and election. Every time elections come around, we are witnessing the illusion of democracy, and it’s not a secret.  Politics, elections, and government policy are not controlled by the politicians; they seem to be the ‘fall’ people. They too take orders, and have a ‘boss.’ Above the government sit the corporations, and above them the big banks. This is the current power structure of modern day global dominance. Foster Gamble from Thrive gives an excellent visual depiction of it in this clip from the Thrive documentary.

Apart from corporate sponsors like big oil and energy companies, it’s not a secret that Hillary has the banking of those who literally control the supply of money, those who basically created this entire system. A great example comes from a $100,000 a head fundraiser at the home of Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent New York businesswoman, and a member of the famous Rothschild banking family. A family that has been accused of, as Jay Syrmopoulos from The Free Thought Project  puts it, “pulling the strings of many different governments through their control of various economic systems throughout the world.” Prior to this fundraiser, Wikileaks Clinton emails release shed further light on Hillary’s relationship with the Rothschild family.

Politicians are for sale. A 2014 study from Princeton University revealed that the United States is not a democracy or a republic, but rather an oligarchy where the balance of power and control of global resources lies within the hands of a very small, tight-knit group of people, and that these groups of people basically control and dictate government policy.  You can see corporate influence in so many areas; the TPP is one out of many great examples .

The 29th president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt might have said it best by stating that “presidents are selected, not elected” and that “behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing to allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people.” (source)

Even the very first British MP, Benjamin Disraeli, wrote that “the world is governed by different personages to what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes.”  (Coningsby, Book 4, Chap. 15.) – Page 131

Senator Daniel K. Inouye told the world that “there exists a shadowy government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of the national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself.” (source)

In the informative video below, journalist Abby Martin of The Empire Files tells it like it is, explaining that Hillary Clinton is the top pick by big corporations to keep the American empire running. It has become almost commonplace to say that we live in a ‘corporatocracy,’ not a democracy, and more people are coming to understand that whoever is ‘elected’ to be president will have been selected to be there by those who control the seat of the presidency: the financial elite.

I’ll leave you with one last quote that relates to what I am getting at here.

The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government, which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation … The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both parties … [and] control the majority of the newspapers and magazines in this country. They use the columns of these papers to club into submission or drive out of office public officials who refuse to do the bidding of the powerful corrupt cliques, which compose the invisible government. It operates under cover of a self-created screen [and] seizes our executive officers, legislative bodies, schools, courts, newspapers and every agency created for the public protection. (source)(source)

The quote above comes from John F. Hylan, who was the Mayor of New York City from 1918-1925. To see more quotes that are similiar, you can read this article.

If we want to combat environmental issues, war, poverty, and all of our other problems, we can’t keep looking to political ‘leaders’ like Obama and international organizations like the UN, who simply give their speeches as they’ve always done, year after year. None if it ever seems to change anything at all. They know of the solutions, and have known for years. These are people/organizations who act as puppets and mouthpieces for those in real power, those who apparently care little about us or the planet. The people we think are in power are like gaudy jewels meant to catch the eye and distract the mind. The people who are actually in power are clever, fooling us with words that resonate with the soul and make headlines. Dark acts are always done in the disguise of good deeds, capturing people’s hearts. Don’t continue to be bamboozled. Turn your eye away from them, change will not come from them, it never has and it never will. Change can only come from you and me. If we keep looking to them to provide the solutions and take care of our planet, the planet will continue to get trashed as it always has. It’s how we got here in the first place.

We cannot continue to give our power away and charge others with taking care of our planet. The only way things are going to change here is if we come together as one human race. Governmental policy reflects nothing but corporate interest, and we simply can’t afford to sit around much longer, letting our planet suffer.

“Democrats and republicans are two wings of the same bird, and the flight path doesn’t change.”  – Unknown.

How Do We Address This Problem? What’s The Solution?

Awareness is the first step. There are still too many thinking that the United States is actually a democracy. Awareness alone has and will create a global shift in consciousness, which alters the way the masses look at the western political process. That fact that not everything is as we are told it is will continue to come to light.

Although this is just one area, politics, it’s important to at least identify the problem and it seems that we are still in the process of doing just that.

This is why it’s important to share and engage with/in alternative media.

As far as solutions go, there are many. From developments like those that could completely wipe out the fossil fuel industry and more, the solutions are there. The problem is implementation, and the tremendous power these financial elite have with regard to delaying and silencing these solutions so they can keep their place atop the pyramid.

The more we continue to be aware, pay attention, ask questions and raise our voice, the more we continue to manifest a new human experience. It’s not going to happen overnight, and although an ultimate solution to remove these people from their place of power seems to be unidentifiable right now, staying quiet is definitely not an option.

VIDEO: Israel lobby Controls Most American Politicians

“The Israel lobby and all of its different component parts are one of the most powerful and influential special interest groups in the United States,” he said. “Virtually all of the major politicians from both of the major parties repeatedly kowtow to the Israel lobby.”

Although this commentator is mostly saying nothing new. He absolutely does raise interesting points about the influence of the Israel lobby (AIPAC), and it is well worth a listen.

“Israel lobby Controls Most American Politicians,” Source:

The United States’ unconditional support for Israel will not end anytime soon as most of the American politicians, regardless of their party, are controlled by the powerful Israel lobby, says a journalist and political commentator in Virginia.

Keith Preston, chief editor and director of, made the remarks while discussing US Secretary of State John Kerry’s expected visit with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Italian capital city of Rome.

The two are expected to discuss the ongoing Israeli settlement building while assessing the possibility of reviving the Israeli-Palestinian “peace process.”

Joe-Biden at AIPAC

The meeting comes as the Middle East Quartet is ready to release an important report aimed at fostering the so-called “two-state” solution.

Speaking to Press TV on Sunday, Preston said that the illegal settlements served the Tel Aviv regime’s desire for “expansionism” as the ultimate goal of its founders.

“It is important to understand that the settlements are an essential part of Israel’s foreign policy,” said Preston. “Israel is about expansionism.”

To achieve that goal, Preston said, Israeli leaders were trying to ethnically cleanse Palestinians and steal their lands in order to help the Israeli population grow.

The publication of the report by the Quartet group – the United States, the European Union, the United Nations and Russia – has been delayed for several times, but Israeli officials say it will only be released after Netanyahu meets with Kerry and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

Describing Kerry’s trip to Rome as a “smoke and mirror show,” the analyst noted that Washington “has no intention of curbing Israeli expansion.”

“So the idea that the United States would somehow renounce its decades-long policy of unqualified support for Israel and Israel’s expansionism in the region is very improbable,” Preston said.

He said Kerry was setting up a “political cover” ahead of the report, which is expected to harshly question the settlement program.

Preston said the current balance of power in US politics, which is dominated by the Israel lobby, eliminates all chances for a fair reaction to the report in Washington.

“The Israel lobby and all of its different component parts are one of the most powerful and influential special interest groups in the United States,” he said. “Virtually all of the major politicians from both of the major parties repeatedly kowtow to the Israel lobby.”

That is why, he argued, domestic US politics need to change before the US can change its foreign policy with regards to the Israeli regime.

More than half a million Israelis live in over 230 illegal settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds.
